WORK has been completed on the entrances to two substandard roads in Jaywick.

Contractors have completed work on repairing the entrances to Vauxhall Avenue and Essex Avenue as part of an £84,500 scheme.

The Tendring Council programme includes reconstructing the entrances of six roads in the Brooklands area.

Work started earlier this month and all the roads should be finished in another four to six weeks.

Council leader Mick Page said: “It is just the start of improvements in Jaywick over the coming years andit is part of the catalyst for the regeneration of the area.

“As these entrances to the roads are repaired, it should make a significant difference for the vehicles using them on an everyday basis. I am sure that residents will notice the difference.”

Works in Brooklands Gardens and Austin Avenue are nearing completion. The team will then move on to Hillman Avenue and Sunbeam Avenue.
