AN elderly woman whowas more than two times the drink-drive limit when she crashed her car into the front of a bungalow has vowed never to drive again.
Lorna Hobern, 81, of Kirby Road, Walton, pleaded guilty to drink-driving at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The court heard Hobern had drunk three glasses of whisky with water, and a glass of red wine with lunch at 2pm on New Year’s Day.
At about 6pm that day, she clipped another vehicle in Gouldings Avenue, Walton, and careered into the porch of a bungalow, destroying its porch.
