RAILWAY station staff in Clacton raised a top total for a tot with a rare muscle disease.
Abellio Greater Anglia worker JennyCameron, of Skelmersdale Road, Clacton, came up with a sponsored walk plan to help youngster Stanley Newman.
Two-year-old Stanley has a muscle-wasting disease called congenital muscular dystrophy.
Friends and family have been going all out to raise cash for a special wheelchair for the Clacton youngster, as well as for the help and equipment he will need in the future.
Now station staff have handed over £1,250 to boost the cause.
Jenny said: “I live next to Stanley and his family and was wondering what I could do to help.
“I came up with a pier to pier walk and roped my co-workers into helping with sponsorship.
“It was a seven-mile route from Walton Pier to Clacton Pier and it was a lovely day. It was the perfect way to raise some money for Stanley. He’s a wonderful boy and it’s great to be able to add to the total.”
Sponsorship money added up to £1,000, and Abellio Greater Anglia contributed an extra £250.
It was handed over to the Newman family in a presentation at Clacton’s railway station.
