BUDDING dancers hit the stage at the Royal Albert Hall to perform in front of a huge audience.

Students from the Clacton-based Company Performing Arts joined more than 400 of the world’s most talented young dancers in the annual Dance Proms spectacular to stage a musical theatre number called Seize the Day.

Veteran dancer Wayne Sleep said: “This year saw some incredible performances and it was a pleasure to watch these young stars enjoying their moment on the Royal Albert Hall stage.”

Strictly Come Dancing’s Karen Hauer added: “Every one of the 400 dancers looked like they were having the time of their lives and you could see how much work and passion they put into their performances.

"I think we witnessed some of the dance stars of tomorrow on the stage this year.”

Company Performing Arts principal Aaron Lissimore was thrilled for his young students, adding: “Dance Proms is such a fantastic opportunity for local children to perform in an iconic venue.

"The atmosphere was electric and the children couldn’t contain their excitement.”
