TWO pals created a splash for charity by swimming more than a mile along Clacton’s Sunshine Coast.
Danny Mayzes and Gregg Lucas raised almost £1,000 paddling from Clacton Pier to the golf course’s Martello Tower.
Local councillor Danny was raising money for Country Holidays for Inner City Kids (CHICKS) where he is a volunteer, while Gregg collected cash for Essex Air Ambulance.
Danny said: “The swim was tough, as the tide began to get quite rough from the halfway marker, but we had done the training for it so were well prepared for what the sea could throw at us.”
