RESIDENTS were flushed with success at a special care home casino in Jaywick.

Residents at Corner Lodge Care Home, in Meadow Way, had a go at roulette and blackjack as part of a special event.

Activities coordinator Debbie Collins said there were two croupiers for the for the fun event, which saw the care home transformed into a mini casino.

“It was brilliant – there was such an exciting atmosphere,” she said.

“The residents really enjoyed it when they won, but not so much when they lost.

“It all went down really well – some of our residents were gambling for the first time.

“We had people aged from 50 up to 95 taking part.

“At one point we had ten people around the blackjack table and half a dozen playing the roulette.”
