A BRAVE youngster from Clacton took to the stage with Nicole Scherzinger as part of a special cancer campaign.

Joshua Borley, 11, performed alongside the former Pussycat Doll and X Factor judge for the Stand Up To Cancer fundraiser, screened live on Channel 4.

The Clacton Coastal Academy pupil, who was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma when he was just five, sang to millions of viewers with the Stand Up To Cancer Children’s Choir on Friday.

All the youngsters in the choir have been treated for cancer and their performance was aimed at highlighting the importance of research into life-saving treatments and faster diagnosis.

The event raised £14.5million for charities, including Cancer Research UK.

Josh said: “I was very proud to be able to be there and help raise money for Stand Up To Cancer by singing in the choir. It was really fun meeting the celebrities and exciting to be on TV.”

The youngster has responded well to treatment, which has included five operations and chemotherapy.
