A MAN has died after a crash at an accident blackspot on the A120.
The accident occurred between a car and a lorry at the notorious Hare Green junction just after 4.30pm on Tuesday.
The car driver, a 90-year-old male from Harwich, was killed and the female passenger suffered serious injuries and is in Colchester Hospital.
Formal identification is still to take place.
An ambulance, rapid response car and the Essex Air Ambulance were all called to the scene.
Two fire crews from Colchester, one from Manningtree, one from Wivenhoe and the Urban Search and Rescue team were also tasked.
The eastbound carriageway reopened at approximately 6.45pm, and the westbound carriageway at 9pm.
