A PLUCKY woman is set to have her hair shaved off for a good cause.

Beth Murray, 23, of Spring Road, St Osyth, will have her hair buzzed at a special event on Saturday to boost Macmillan Cancer Support.

She will donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust, which makes real-hair wigs for youngsters who have lost their hair because of cancer treatments.

Beth is also collecting sponsorship for the head shave and has already raised more than £2,000.

She was inspired to raise money for the charity after seeing Macmillan support her family and friends.

Beth said: “I’m getting pretty nervous about it now it’s getting closer. It’s quite daunting.

“I’m a student, so I don’t have a lot of money to donate to the cause, so I thought what do I have a lot of that could help? The answer was hair!

“My original target was £1,000, but it has gone so well and people have been really supportive. I’m hoping to get over the £3,000 mark now.”

The event is on Saturday at the Kings Arms pub, in St Osyth, from 8pm. There will also be live music.
