A BUSY road has been closed off by police after a four car smash.
The A133 stretch between Weeley roundabout and Bovills roundabout near Clacton is closed while emergency services deal with the incident.
Firefighters from Clacton and Weeley were called to the scene. Crews used special cutting gear to free two women who were trapped in one of the cars.
Paramedics also attended and three people have been taken to hospital with neck, back and chest injuries.
None of the injuries are thought to be serious.
The crash happened at about 12.40pm on Thursday.
Police are telling drivers to avoid the area if possible while it is dealt with.
