WALTON’S lifeguards have proved themselves as some of the top performers in the country with a successful showing in a national competition.
The team from Frinton and Walton Swimming Pool gave an outstanding performance in the 2013 Lifeguard Triathlon.
Hundreds of lifesavers took part in the competition, which tests their skills to the limit with a series of challenges.
Walton’s Paige Hamilton, 21, was one of the star performers, coming at the top of the female leaderboard made up of 257 competitors.
She finished 23rd overall out of 662 entries.
Brothers Mark and James Whitfield also scored highly from the Walton team.
They came second and third out of more than 400 male competitors, while the Walton line-up just missed out on top spot in the team events, finishing second out of 48.
The rest of the Walton team was made up of David Quinney, Marcus Poston, Jane Hodges and Megan Steel.
