A DRIVER was fined for driving a dangerous vehicle following a crash on the A120.

A Goff petrol tanker was struck by a foreign heavy goods vehicle when it lost its wheel on the A120 on Tuesday, February 19.

The smash happened between Pellens Corner and Horsley Cross roundabout at about 1.25pm. The road was closed until after 5.30pm.

Police believe two cars travelling behind the lorry could hold vital witness information and are appealing for them to get in touch.

A Volvo lorry, Ford Puma, Peugeot 307 and Hyundai i10 were in the collision.

Three women had minor injuries. A woman in her 40s was taken to hospital with an injury to her ribs. Two had back injuries and were discharged at the scene.

The driver of foreign registered HGV has been reported to VOSA and received a fixed penalty notice.

Police also want to ensure the cars behind the tanker were not damaged.

The drivers are asked to contact Pc Allan Discombe at Stanway police on 101.

See, all that ranting and raving yesterday, jumping to conclusions. It was just a naughty east European driver and his lorry both unfit to be on our roads. I wonder if he'll pay his fine? and for all the damaged he caused?.
WTF was he allowed here in the first place?.
