Stretch of Frinton promenade revamped

A STRETCH of Frinton’s promenade has been revamped in a bid to improve the seafront.

The 600-metre stretch between Connaught Avenue and The Crescent was resurfaced by Tendring Council contractors.

The old cracked and crumbling surface was laid in the 1960s and had been untouched since then.

Council technical boss Pam Sambridge said: “If you look at the promenade now, and how it was before, the difference is plain to see.

“The resurfacing has made a big difference and will be enjoyed by a large number of people, including the beach hut owners down there.”

A section of the promenade was closed off to ensure public safety while work was carried out between October 8 and October 17.
