THE chart-topping Military Wives are to perform at Clacton's West Cliff Theatre next year.

The group melted TV viewers' hearts after being put together by celeb choirmaster Gareth Malone for the Beeb’s The Choir series last year.

It was made up of wives and girlfriends of British Military personnel serving overseas.

They claimed the coveted Christmad No 1 spot with debut single Wherever You Are and later saw the album In My Dreams storm to the top of the charts.

The group at the West Cliff show will be made up of national and local members of the Military Wives Foundation.

Theatre manager Andy Jeffery said: "We are all looking forward to what will be a fantastic show, and we hope another sell-out show."

The evening will start with the Band of the Royal Anglian Regiment and also include other RAF featured artists.

Proceeds from the February 2 concert will go to The Military Wives Foundation, Help For Heroes and RAF Association charities.

Tickets, priced £20 (£14 under 14s), are already on sale at the box office on 01255 433344 or at westcliffclacton.org.
