New theatre service launched for Tendring youths
1:30pm Friday 19th October 2012 in News
A REPLACEMENT youth theatre group has been launched after the previous service was slashed to save cash.
The Princes Theatre Youth Company, which was subsidised by Tendring Council, was closed down in September.
But the council has now organised a replacement service.
It will now be run by outside company Touth Theatre Workshops, eliminating the cost to the council and the taxpayer.
Tendring Council cabinet spokesman Stephen Mayzes said: “Under the new arrangements this is a win-win situation with no cost to the tax payers of Tendring.”
The new sessions will be run by age group, and will cost £2.50 per week for the youngest age group and £6 a week for the older groups.
Anyone interested in joining the workshops should contact Melissa Wenn on 01255 430809 or visit the Tourist Information Centre at Clacton Town Hall.
