Greg West from District 3, left, with fellow bandmates Micky Parsons and Dan Ferrari-Lane
LOCAL X Factor hopeful District 3 needs the public’s votes tonight as bookmakers see them as one of the favourites to exit the show.
The boyband, fronted by Tendring boy Greg West, 18, are second favourite to Rylan Clark, who controversially stayed in the competition last week when Louis Walsh took the elimination to deadlock.
Rylan, from Stanford le Hope, is 11/4 favourite to leave according to William Hill, while District 3 is 3/1. Christopher Maloney, in the Over 28s category, is third favourite to leave at 7/2.
Clacton resident Greg, who attended Dovercourt’s Chase Lane Primary School and Manningtree High School, has become popular with fans, with his twitter page @Greg_District3 having 66,400 followers.
District 3 impressed judges with their harmonies last week.
But the song choice of Tina Turner’s Simply the Best, was met with a mixed reaction.
Tonight’s show has a theme of ‘love and heartbreak’ and starts at 8.20pm when details of how to vote will be announced.
