Council and Jobcentre join forces in unique partnership

A NEW pilot scheme has been launched in Tendring in a bid to match businesses with the right job-seekers.
The new scheme is also aimed at encouraging employers to take on extra staff.
Tendring Council, which has teamed up with Jobcentre Plus, believes the initiative is unique.
Donna Lehain, who works for Jobcentre Plus, will be working with the council’s regeneration team to help businesses.
The aim is to help them to identify new jobs, apprenticeships and work placements and then find them the right person for the position.
So far 43 companies have signed up for the scheme, which will run for at least six months, and ten new job vacancies have been made.
