Teenage girl attacked and robbed in Clacton

A TEENAGE girl has been attacked and robbed in Clacton.

Two people, thought to be young women, stole the girl’s coat and mobile phone as she walked along the sea wall between Clacton and Jaywick on Wednesday October 3 at 7.30pm.

The girl, who is from St Osyth, was shaken but unharmed.

A 14-year-old girl from Clacton was arrested on suspicion of robbery and has been bailed until November 7 pending further enquiries.

Investigating officer PC Spencer Keeble appealed for witnesses to come forward.

He said: “This attack happened at a time when there might have been walkers along the front.

“We want to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time, especially if they saw someone running away from the scene.”

Anyone with information should call Pc Keeble at Colchester Target Team on 101.
