Nursery children receive royal letter from the Queen

NURSERY children were overjoyed to receive a letter from the Queen.

Youngsters from Chestnut Grove Kindergarten in Clacton went all out with their celebrations for the Queen’s diamond jubilee back in June.

They drew portraits of the Queen, made banners and wore masks to celebrate the occasion.

Teachers at Chestnut Grove sent the portraits and pictures of the celebrations off to Buckingham Palace after the event.

They were astounded to receive a reply from her Royal Highness last week.

Teacher Rosie Meloy said: “We had a big celebration and after the jubilee the children thought it would be nice to send the pictures off for the Queen to look at.

“We never expected to get anything back and we were blown away when it came through.

“It’s not the sort of thing you get through the door every day, but it is a lovely gesture.”

Yet another error in reporting.

The correct way to address the Queen is Her Majesty not Her Royal Highness.
