Sheltered housing residents celebrate sensational fundraiser in Kirby Cross

SHELTERED housing residents from Kirby Cross raised more than £500 for charity with a special coffee morning event.

The event at Greenfields sheltered accommodation was organised by resident David Bromfield, whose wife died in April.

All cash raised went to Macmillan Cancer Support.

He said: “I wanted to do something for a good cause in memory of my wife.

“Everyone helped and I’m really pleased with how it went and how much we raised. I’m really grateful for all the support we got, especially from the local businesses.

“It was a coffee morning, but we had lots of other things going on like stalls and raffles.”

A grand total of £577.46 was raised, and has now been handed over to a Macmillan representative who visited the Greenfields residents.
