Youngster completes bike ride for brave LCH-sufferer Freya

A YOUNG boy has completed a mammoth 17-mile bike ride for his young cousin, who is struggling with a rare disease.

Brave Freya Bojko, 6, was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis in July.

The disease can behave like a cancer, and Freya has been undergoing intensive chemotherapy treatment.

She will have to continue having the treatment for the next 15 months.

Freya has to travel to Addenbrook’s Hospital in Cambridge for the chemotherapy courses.

Mum Carrie said: “We were devastated when we found out. It’s the sort of news that turns your whole world upside down.

“Freya has handled it all really well. She is an inspiration to everyone and we are all so proud of her.”

Freya’s family have rallied around her, and have been busy creating awareness of the disease, as well as raising cash for various charities.

One of Freya’s cousins Kylan Nash has completed a 17-mile sponsored bike ride.

Two year-old Kylan cycled the route around Peterborough lake reserve with his dad Lee, who gave the youngster a lift when he got tired.

The family is setting up a website called ‘Faith in Freya’ to help them raise money for charity in Freya’s name.

They also want to raise money to take her to Disneyland when she has recovered.
