Volunteer teams muck in to raise charity cash for St Helena Hospice
2:02pm Thursday 4th October 2012 in News
EIGHT teams of brave volunteers competed against each other in a fun day challenge to boost a charity’s coffers.
Competitors faced a variety of challenges including manoeuvring across a giant inflatable obstacle course and catapulting wet sponges as part of an ‘It’s a Knockout’ fundraiser for St Helena Hospice.
It was held at Tendring Enterprise Studio School at Clacton Coastal Academy’s Jaywick Lane site on Sunday.
Organisers hope the event has raised about £2,000 for the hospice.
Catherine Venables, from St Helena Hospice said: “It was a great day, and a chance for people to do something a bit different to help the hospice.
“We’re delighted with how it went and are looking forward to doing it again. This was the first time we’ve done it in Clacton but we want to make it an annual event here.”
