Driver thanks emergency services after car smash

A MAN has praised emergency service workers who helped him after he crashed his car near Walton.

David Payten, 66, of Kirby-le-Soken, crashed his car on Kirby Road nearly two weeks ago.

He said: “That day the sun got in my eyes and I crashed into a parked van at the side of the road.

“It was quite a big crash and very scary for me. I was lucky in the end, it could have been much worse.

“The fire brigade, paramedics and police were all there and they were really good.

“The firemen had to cut me out of my car but they were great and helped me through the whole thing, and I wanted to thank them.”
