Road closed after car crashes into tree in Kirby-le-Soken

A DRIVER had to be cut from his car after crashing into a tree and road sign.

The grey BMW 520 Sport collided with a tree on Sneating Hall Lane in Kirby-le-Soken.

The incident happened at about 11am.

Emergency services descended on the scene and the road was closed at the Walton Road and Thorpe Road ends from 11.20am while they dealt with the accident.

The driver had to be cut out of the car by fire crews from Frinton.

He was complaining of neck and back pains, and was handed over to paramedics so they could assess his injuries.

Police say the damage to the tree and the car was minimal.

UPDATE: The road has now re-opened after being closed for about three and a half hours.

Glad the driver is ok but how can you say damage to the car was minimal when you say he had to be cut out of it which I assume means the vehicle had to be cut open?

We can only hope they meant the vehicle other wise HOch !!.
