Weeley toddler takes on charity trek in Colchester
3:00pm Sunday 30th September 2012 in News
A YOUNGSTER stretched his little legs to the limit with a sponsored walk for a children’s hospital.
Little Ryley Nash, who does not celebrate his second birthday until October, joined his mum on a two-mile sponsored walk in Colchester.
Staff from the Premier Inn in Weeley had organised the sponsored walk to raise cash for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.
Ryley’s mum Charlotte Rundle, who works at the Premier Inn, decided to volunteer her son to join in and boost the fundraising effort.
The youngster's proud uncle Ian Rundle said: “It went absolutely brilliant and he did so well.
“I’ve been helping get some sponsorship for the event, and in the end he managed to raise more than £300 with his efforts.
“It’s a long way for little legs to walk. I was quite surprised he managed it, but he was still bouncing around as energetically as ever the next day.
“We are all so proud of him for what he has achieved. He really is a remarkable young lad."
