THE funeral of a teenager who was stabbed to death at a house party takes place this morning.

Jay Whiston, 17, of Aster Close, Clacton, was killed outside a party in Marlowe Way, Colchester, on September 8.

His funeral will take place at Weeley Crematorium today at 11am. Tendring Council , which runs the crematorium, is expecting a huge turnout of family and friends.

Arrangements have been put in place to relay the service to mourners outside if there is not enough room in the building.

Hundreds of people turned out to pay tribute to the Tendring Technology College pupil by releasing Chinese lanterns at Frinton’s Greensward earlier this month.

Five teenagers arrested on suspicion of murdering Jay have been bailed without charge until October 27.
