Snack attack cost Peperami pilferer almost £90

A SHOPLIFTER was caught red-handed ... trying to hide Peperami sausages down his trousers.

Robert Venning, 21, of Elmden Court, Clacton, pocketed the snacks from McColls in North Road.

He said the September 2 incident was impulsive because he was hungry.

Colchester Magistrates’ Court heard the theft was spotted by a PCSO who was in the store at the time.

Venning was given a six-month conditional discharge but ordered to pay £3.75p compensation and £85 court costs.
