A CLACTON food shop will donate cash to boost young footballers in the town.
Subway has been encouraging its franchisees to boost budding sports stars.
The Clacton store, run by Roy Clouter will be supporting FC Clacton Youth this season by donating 10p to the club every time they sell something from a range of selected subs.
Mr Clouter said: “Sport plays an essential part in our community and we hope to help these young players get the things they need with everyone’s support.”
The FC Clacton club were delight to link up with the food chain.
They plan to use the donated cash to buy new training gear, match balls and portable goals.
Chairman Danny Coyle said: “We are absolutely delighted that our local subway will be donating to the club.
“We’ll be using the funds for the direct benefit of our youth section.
“We are an FA Charter Standard Community Club, so all of our youth teams from under six to under 18 will really benefit from any support the Clacton community can give us.”
