Couple in Scottish plane crash drama

A COUPLE are recovering after a plane crash on a Scottish island.

The man and woman, who are understood to be from Essex, were flying in a Cessna aircraft on the Isle of Mull when the plane flipped over.

The front wheel dug into the ground as it touched down on the Scottish airfield turning the plane over.

The pilot, a 49-year-old woman, suffered facial injuries but the 47-year-old passenger escaped unharmed.

She was taken to the hospital on the island and then flown by helicopter to a Glasgow hospital.

The local Strathclyde Fire crews helped isolate the fuel tanks and cordon off the area.

Both passenger and pilot managed to climb out of the wreckage.

An air accident investigation team is looking into the incident which happened at about 11.30am yesterday.
