Burglar uses angle grinder to break into Jaywick home
3:22pm Thursday 20th September 2012 in News By James Dwan
BRAZEN burglar broke into a home in Jaywick using an angle grinder.
The noisy cutter was used to remove security bars on a window of the property in Alvis Avenue.
The burglar made off with a 32ins flat screen television with a combined DVD player as well as an Icom marine band radio.
Investigating officer, Det Con Roger Henderson said: "This was certainly an unusual and brazen way of carrying out a burglary because of the noise the angle grinder would have made.
“It also happened during daylight and carrying a 32in television out of a house would also have looked suspicious.
"We want to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious or from anyone who has been offered a television and ship-to-shore radio for sale in suspicious circumstances.”
The burglary happened between 4.15pm and 4.30pm on Wednesday.
Witnesses should call Det Con Henderson at the Clacton Target Offender Team on 101.
