Smokers urged to quit as part of new campaign
2:30pm Thursday 20th September 2012 in News
FREE nicotine replacement products are being offered to smokers across north east Essex.
Part of stop smoking drive Stoptober, it is first mass quit attempt launched by the Department of Health, which starts next month.
The offer is being led by Anglian Community Enterprise (ACE), which runs the Colchester and Tendring NHS Stop Smoking Service.
The initiative takes smokers through a detailed step-by-step programme to help them quit.
Sue White, service co-ordinator at ACE, said: “We are fully behind this excellent initiative and to give local people the best possible chance of success, we are offering people a ten-week course of nicotine replacement products.”
