Reunion for soccer veterans

A REUNION for past members of a Brightlingsea football club takes place this weekend.

Former players, members and officials at Evening Star FC are celebrating the club's 40th anniversary.

Formed by regulars of the Evening Star in 1972, the club was a founder member of the Naze Friendly Football League, before joining the Clacton Sunday League in 1974.

The club changed its name to Colne Star FC and finally closed last year.

The reunion is being held at the Brightlingsea Royal British Legion club in Sydney Street this Saturday.

Tickets are £2.50 which includes a raffle and food.
