Local firms encouraged to bid for council work
8:30am Thursday 20th September 2012 in News
BUSINESSES across Tendring are to be advised how they can bid for millions of pounds worth of council contracts.
Firms in the district are being invited to a new initiative being staged at Clacton’s Princes Theatre next week.
They will be given the chance to talk to officers about how they can bid for work with Tendring Council, which has contracts worth millions of pounds every year.
Technical services boss Pam Sambridge said the council wanted to give everyone a fair chance to pitch for the work.
“It is all about the council wanting to be fair with everyone and remove barriers that might stop local firms and suppliers pitching for our business,” she said.
The event, from 10am to 4pm on September 26, will also inform people about how much is spent on various activities, goods and services, as well as when the current list of contracts are due for renewal.
