Timebank seeks volunteers
1:37pm Monday 10th September 2012 in News By James Dwan
VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help run a group in Clacton aimed at replacing money with services.
The Tendring Timebank was set up last year to help people exchange skills or services with other people in the community without any money changing hands.
The scheme sees credits given for time spent working which can be used to buy a service from someone else.
Ian Layzell, founder of the initiative, said: “We started just over a year ago and have several volunteers who exchange their time and skills.
“The one thing we lack now more than anything is leaders to help shape its direction.
“We desperately need a treasurer and a secretary but also those with media, marketing, fundraising, and volunteer management skills”.
Anyone interested in joining the Tendring Timebank committee should contact Mr Layzell on 01255 420021 or email him at ian-layzell@hotmail.co.uk .
