THE grief stricken family of a teenager stabbed to death at a house party have paid tribute to their “lovely boy”.

Seventeen-year-old Jay Whiston, of Aster Close, Clacton, died after being stabbed at a party in Marlowe Way, Colchester, at 10pm last night.

His heartbroken mother, Caroline Shearer, 46, said: “He was a lovely boy. He was caring, sharing and intelligent.

“He was looking forward to the future and was going to go to university.

“He was not a yob or a thug had never been in any trouble before.

It is believed Jay was an A-Level student at Tendring Technology College studying law and business studies.

Jay’s grandfather, David Whiston, 71, of Holland Road, Little Clacton, said: “He was a wonderful boy.

“He loved us and we loved him to bits."
