Flat plans for Brightlingsea supermarket approved

FLATS can be built above a Brightlingsea supermarket after council officers gave plans the green light.

Four apartments could be built above the East of England Co-op Foodstore in Station Road.

The top floor of the two-storey building used to be a warehouse but this was moved to the ground floor several years ago.

Recent refurbishment to the staff facilities, which have also been moved to the ground floor, meant the first storey is now empty.

The plans include three two-bedroom flats and a one-bedroom apartment.
Officers at Tendring Council approved the proposals this week.

I hope the roof is strong enough to take the weight! Handy if you get a bit peckish, just nip downstairs!
