Gannett grants up for grabs
3:00pm Friday 7th September 2012 in News
GRANTS worth up to £10,000 are up for grabs for community groups in north Essex, thanks to the Clacton and Frinton Gazette’s parent company Gannett.
Every year, registered charities which show a creative approach to helping the community are encouraged to apply for funding from the Gannett Foundation.
The grants usually range from £5,000 to £10,000, although larger amounts are sometimes available.
The foundation rewards charities which run projects that provide lasting improvement to education, neighbourhoods, economic development, environmental conservation and cultural enrichment.
It also supports groups helping disabled, young and disadvantaged people. Grants will not be made to individuals or organisations which are not registered charities, or national or regional groups.
Medical or research organisations, animal charities and school groups are also not eligible, with the exception of special needs schools and hospices.
Donations from the foundation cannot be used to pay salaries, or put towards general running costs, endowment funds, general appeals, or campaigns run over a year or more.
For an application form you can log onto clactonandfrintongazette.co.uk. You must also supply copies of your most recent accounts, or other appropriate financial information, along with any supporting materials and details of your organisation’s managing committee.
The completed form and any supporting documents should be emailed to michele.newman@nqe.com by 5pm on September 30. Submissions on paper will not be accepted.
