A GRAN who became an instant celebrity after being auctioned by her granddaughter on Ebay has died.
Marian Goodall, from Clacton, died on August 6 after a battle with bronchitis, aged just 64.
In 2009 Marian grabbed the headlines in national newspapers after the Gazette revealed she had been put under the hammer on the internet auction site.
Cheeky grandaughter Zoe Pemberton put her on Ebay after getting fed up with her grumpy gran.
Bidding soared to more than £2,000 before website bosses closed the auction down.
After Marian’s death, her family were astounded to see a massive floral tribute arrive on their doorstep from Ebay.
Son Thomas said: “I’m not sure how they heard about it, but Ebay sent over a massive flower arrangement for her funeral.
“It just turned up at our door one day out of the blue.
“I was absolutely blown away. It was a lovely gesture by them.”
