New Year's Day killers to be sentenced

Murderer: Charlie Jacobs
A MAN and his girlfriend are due to be sentenced later this week following the brutal killing of a Clacton man on New Year’s Day.
Oli Smith-Daye, 29, was attacked in Trimley Close shortly before 4.30am on January 1 this year.
He died from his injuries at Colchester General Hospital later that day.
A post-mortem examination showed the 29-year-old, of West Avenue, Clacton, died from head injuries.
Following a three-week trial at Chelmsford Crown Court, 22-year-old unemployed Charlie Jacobs, of Trimley Close, was found guilty of murder while his 21-year-old unemployed girlfriend Elisha Francois, of the same address, was convicted of manslaughter.
They are due to be sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court tomorrow.
