Police teams to be combined in money-saving bid

POLICE support staff in Essex and Kent could be combined into one team to save money.

Essex Police needs to save £42million a year by 2014/15.

Chief Constable Jim Barker-McCardle, in his qaurterly report, said: “The aim is for joint Essex and Kent heads of the remaining support services departments to be in place by April 2013 with plans for convergence of management teams and underlying structures beling implemented during the 2013/14 business year.”
