Collectors line up for valuation day in Brightlingsea

EAGER collectors brought along their knick knacks to be valued in Brightlingsea.

Residents had spent hours rummaging around the corners of their homes to find their oldest and most valuable goods.

Watches, coins and military medals were all brought down to the valuation day at Brightlingsea Community Centre yesterday.

Auctioneers Lockdales set up the event.

Chris Elmy, cataloguer at Lockdales, said: “Throughout the day over 100 members of the public brought items to us for valuation, including some very interesting pieces.

"We had a busy day at Brightlingsea, seeing many interesting things - local postcards, First and Second World War medals, pocket watches, stamps and coins.

“All in all it was a very successful day.”
