Tenants give landlord the thumbs up
8:30am Friday 10th August 2012 in News
TENANTS have given a district council the thumbs up for its job as a landlord.
Tendring Council has been named as one of the best landlords in the country following a survey of residents, which showed almost 93 per cent are happy with the service they get.
The figures are up from 89 per cent and make Tendring one of the highest rated councils.
Paul Honeywood, cabinet member for housing, said he was delighted with the results.
“We are incredibly proud that our tenants appreciate what we provide for them and are prepared to say so by the way they have responded in the survey,” he said.
“It was also important to see that 87.4 per cent were very or fairly satisfied with their neighbourhood as a place to live.
“The council takes its role as a landlord extremely seriously as part of our goal to provide local housing for local people which meets their needs.”
The council announced in June that it will be spending £3million to buy or build properties to boost its housing stock.
