Ambulances in Tendring to be axed in latest cuts

LIFESAVING ambulances are being axed from stations across in Tendring it has been revealed.

In a bid to save £50million the East of England Ambulance Service is set to slash the number of 24-hour ambulance crews on the roads.

Harwich will keep its ambulance while Clacton and Frinton will each lose one and Weeley both its full time ambulances.

Colchester will go down to just one 24-hour ambulance from its current three.

What stupidity. Tendring has one of the highest population of elderly people in the UK. Just the people who typically need the ambulance service.

This sort of cutback may be hugely attractive in saving government money but we should remember that the governments money is merely that which is paid in by us tax payers.

To cut back on ambulances and therefore medical provision is wrong.

Perhaps the plan is to leave patients to die before arriving, thereby avoiding any further healthcare costs.

Great I have already had to wait 40 minutes at home for a ambulance when suffering cheast pains and likewise a hours wait at the minor injuries unit(i was apparently in a place of safety).
This has got to rank as one of the daftest ideas since mrs hitler said darling i fancy a early night..........

how stupid can you get we read of many cases even in this paper of people needing a ambulance. the risk of some one not being attended to in time will be very high. you cant play with peoples lives yet the government, and council seems to want to play god. what a price to pay !

I cant help thinking what sort of response i would of had last saturday when i had to call a ambulance had the new regime been in operation.
within 8 minutes of my call a ambulance was outside and i was in colchester within 45 minutes well done guys.
With the new proposals i am guessing the wait would of been much longer.
