Holland Haven Primary children perform special show for retiring headteacher

SCHOOLCHILDREN said goodbye to their retiring headteacher with a special show at Clacton’s Princes Theatre.

More than 300 Holland Haven Primary School youngsters took part in the performance of the Wizard of Oz.

It was arranged as a send off for headteacher Sharon Sciachettano, who has retired after seven years at the school.

Teacher Samantha Belcher said: “It was a fitting send-off for Mrs Sciachettano and the children put on a fantastic show.

“It involved virtually every pupil from reception up to year six and it was wonderful for them to perform on a professional stage in front of a full house.”

Parents and family members completely filled the 800-seat theatre, which is owned by Tendring Council .

Council spokesman Kai Aberdeen said: “We are always trying to involve schools and other sections of the community in the theatre which can be used for a wide range of activities and productions.

“The children put on a great show and it is always good to see a full house.”
