Diamond couple share anniversary with Queen Diamond couple share anniversary with Queen

HAPPY couple Joan and Joseph Norris have something in common with the Queen - they have just celebrated their diamond jubilee.

The Clacton couple met at a dance and tied the knot in Chigwell Row on June 7, 1952.

Joseph was born in Hackney in 1925, while Joan was born five years later in Leytonstone.

They moved to Rayleigh after getting hitched and later to Rowhedge and then Clacton.

Joan worked for BT and her husband was a car mechanic at the Coronation Garage in Kirby until he retired.

The couple, of Mountview Road, Clacton, have four children, Lynne, 55, Theresa, 53, Keith, 52, and Karen, 49, and eight grandchildren.

They say the secret of their success is "a bit of give and take".

The couple celebrated at the Bowling Green restaurant with family and friends.
