Business booms as sunseekers sizzle on Sunshine Coast

Thousands of sun-worshippers have flocked to the coast in the mini heatwave this weekend.

Beaches were packed with families relieved to see the end of weeks of rain.

And as temperatures spiralled so did takings for scores of tourism businesses.

There were long queues outside ice-cream shops and other food outlets.

Sharon Gibson, of Tubby Isaacs seafood kiosk, by Clacton Pier, said: "It's been a brilliant weekend - the busiest of the year."

You really should get out more, I doubt the area was overflowing with tourists, but happy daze ;-)

Here we are one week later, pouring with rain, cold & blowing a hoolie!
