FEARS were raised for yachtsmen off Clacton after an automatic emergency call was received.
Thames Coastguard received the alarm from a digital selective calling system onboard the yacht Arcanum at 11.50am on Sunday.
A spokesman said: “We started making enquiries with the little information to hand and managed to eventually trace the owner, who was sailing happily in the Wallet, off Clacton.
“The persons on board were safe and well and the yacht had suffered no problems.”
The report was considered a false alarm.
