AN appeal has been launched after a Clacton house was hit by thieves.

The house on Jameson Road, Clacton, was targeted between 1am and 7am on Sunday April 8.

A hoard worth nearly £500 was stolen, including a wallet, bike, handbag, perfume and mobile phone.

The suspect broke in through a back door that had not been properly secured.

Investigating officer PC Claire Strachan said: "We would advise all residents to ensure that all accessible doors and windows are secured at all times of the day to prevent opportunist thieves targeting your property.

“Also, if you saw anyone behaving suspiciously in the early hours of Easter Sunday, we want to hear from you.”

Anyone with information should contact PC Claire Strachan at Clacton police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
