Repeat accidents spark safety fears

5:00pm Wednesday 11th April 2012

A CONCERNED resident is calling for action after three crashes at the junction outside his home in little over a month.

Les Baker, of Ellis Road, said the junction with West Avenue, confuses motorists.

The layout was altered five years ago as part of the multi-million pound Clacton town centre revamp.

Mr Barker said: “There has been three crashes in the last two months.

“Accidents have been caused by people failing to give way when coming from the town centre.

“Although the junction is sign posted with road markings, clearly there is a need to investigate this matter as motorists seem to fail to see it or give way - perhaps the signage does not stand out enough.

“I fear that someone will be killed or seriously injured.”
