THE family of a mother who vanished without a trace hope a new team set up to investigate cold cases will look into her disappearance.

Sandra Gant went missing, aged 48, on November 15, 2003.

The divorced mum-of-four, who lived alone in Wellesley Road, disappeared after drinking with pals at a flat in Hayes Road, Clacton, She and was often seen around town, drinking with friends and police believe someone in Clacton has vital information about her disappearance.

Now a new cold case squad has been set up by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.

Sandra’s daughter Lauren Cheasley said hope they will reinvestigate her mum’s disappearance.

“They could look into things over a longer period of time and hopefully see something that has been missed,” she said.

“Hopefully they will speak to someone who decides that they now want to talk about it.

“All we can do is hope – there aren’t any more lines of inquiry, as a family, that we can look into.”

Police launched a murder investigation in 2003 and four people were arrested, but no-one was charged.

Although Sandra’s body has never been found her daughters believe she was killed.

Last year, Crimestoppers offered a £1,000 reward for information leading to her killer being found.
